Do I need to provide my own cleaning supplies?

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

A common question we get from homeowners is who provides the cleaning supplies? Here's what we recommend and why.

We bring our own cleaning solutions

As professional housekeepers, we've been trained and have long-earned experience using cleaning products that work. We are familiar with the needs of many surfaces—stone countertops, stainless steel, wood, glass, etc.—and bring

the supplies we need to clean them in your home.

Our personal choice is to primarily use natural products, such as vinegar solutions, to minimize chemicals in your home. If there are products you would prefer us to use, please let us know and we are happy to use what you have on hand. We may wish to test them so we are familiar with how they react and perform.

Who supplies the cleaning tools?

We recommend that you provide the vacuum we use in your home—an upright and a canister vac is ideal. But having a lightweight vacuum with good suction is a great investment for your home, both for our use and your own use between cleaning appointments. We also recommend using your home's equipment because vacuums are difficult to sanitize; using your own prevents any dust or germs being inadvertently transferred from another home.

Otherwise, we bring the cleaning tools we need. This includes cleaning cloths, brushes, squeegees, and spray bottles. We use mops with removable pads that are exchanged and cleaned between each appointment .
